Afghanistan is a country in the middle east in between Iran and Pakistan. It is a nation that has been ravaged by war and insurgency for the past 30 years and as a result has a low quality of life. 76% (25 million) of the citizens of Afghanistan live in poverty and only 29% of rural residents have electricity.many female citizens in Afghanistan are treated poorly and are denied education and are not paid the same wage as a male employee would be.
The best education is offered in the capital.it is estimated that in 2002 only 900,000 boys attended school meanwhile girls were completely excluded from the education system.the ministry of education has built 16,000 schools with the help of U.S.A.I.D and other organizations. They have also hired more than 154,000 teachers and now the enrollment for school age children has risen 60%. Since 2008 Afghanistan's nation wide literacy rate has risen 5% and youth literacy rate has risen 16% .Afghanistan has one of the youngest populations in the world,so the government is working on making education a priority.
.
In Afghanistan the annual salary is about $410 per head. Farming is a very popular job in the rural parts of Afghanistan. Life in the capital is very different from life outside of the city. The capital is much more civilized and modern then the rest of the country so if you can imagine the income isn't the best. More than half the country's population lives and poverty and the rest is just above the poverty line on the scale.
In conclusion the quality of life is not the best and the environment is very harsh but Afghans are a very strong and driven people.
